I bought this replacement filter and have not used it yet as I have only had my humidifier for three weeks. I can say that the filter does work as advertised.

This filter was as ordered and exact replacement for the origional filter. Some reviewers have complained; however I am pleased, since the blue covereing does catch the cat hair which is is the air in our home. We have two cats, one long hair and one short hair, and both do shed. If the filter is turned over every other or third filling, it does last longer.

as filter is identical to the original it's equally efficient. it lasts about twice as long as less expensive filters, although not nearly as long as i'd hoped. we have extremely hard water
