I have thick, tightly curled hair. I used this when I grew out my relaxer, and I still use it when I straighten my hair.

The shampoo/conditioner does make your hair a bit softer, but I'm not sure if it adds more value when it comes to straightening my hair. In fact I ran out of shampoo/conditioner and resorted to cowashing and using the Mizani styling products.

With this set, i also bought the Mizani Thermastrength Heat-Protecting Serum 5oz. It does a great job of detangling after washing to prepare for blowdrying.

Sometimes I used this Thermasmooth serum along with the Thermastrength serum, but the serum provided in this set isn't that light (it's sticky), and if you use just a little too much, you can feel the residue on your hair. I only used it if I felt I needed to add a little more weight to my hair to prevent it from reacting to humidity. I don't think it makes much of a difference.

THE BEST PRODUCT BY FAR IN THIS SET is the Thermasmooth Shine Extend Anti-Humidity Spritz. It puts the finishing touch on your hair and is really what works well to make your hair straight. People still think I have a relaxer, and it really makes your hair smooth shiny, and it smells pretty good. I spray this on before taking the flat iron to my hair.

All in all, if I were to do it all over again, i would only by the Thermastrength Heat Protecting Serum(not in this collection) and the Thermasmooth Shine Extend Anti- Humidity Spritz. You can do without the shampoo and conditioner, and I've been only using these two Mizani products for about 10 months now. I use the spritz liberally in the summer when I straighten for extra protection, but after my hair is a couple of days old, it doesn't react as much to the humidity in the air.

I bought the entire thermasmooth system, and i saw results the first use. I got so many compliment the day after. I have relax hair but my hair is very coarse from the roots, so i always get relaxers every 5 - 6 weeks. I'm now on my 5 week and my hair is so soft and the roots is still straight, like the first week i receive my relaxer. This system is excellent for those with coarse hair. I love the shampoo, it truely conditions the hair, that it feels like its already been conditioned; the conditioner is great as well. Usually when i do a protein treatment and use a moisturizer, my hair tends to stay hard, and becomes brittle, but with this conditioner, i couldn't even tell i used a protein treatment, cause i had so much moisture in my hair. I love the serum, use about 2 to 3 pumps, because it will make the hair extremely soft if use to much. The spritz was okay for me. i'm not really a fan of spirtz because they tends to dry my hair but this one was very different. It is very light on the hair, not sticky nor drying to the hair, and also hold your style and prevent humidity. After using it for 3 weeks, I had to stop because my hair became really soft, so i switch back to my other products. and after i stop use of the products, my hair remained extremely soft. Oh and You don't have to blow dry your hair to get excellent result, even the system says you can sit under a hooded dryer. For me, I wrapped my hair and sat under a hooded dryer than flat iron with my fhi platform flat iron and got excellent result. I am very please with this system. but i will only use it when my hair needs moisture, feels dry or need to extend my relaxer. The system did exactly what it claims to do. The longer you use it the better the results. I am very pleased :).

The product is not good at all. It is poor quality and made with a lot of alcohol which is bad for black hair.
I am very upset that I paid this much for a product that is not better than cream of nature. Save your money.
It will not help the health of your hair..
